Many people enjoy playing poker as a game between friends and as a general hobbie, and the obvious reason which is the vast amounts of money which can be accuired very quickly if your a good player! Good players don’t only know the rules of poker but know how to read people and there tell tale signs, these are called ‘Tells’ these can be as big as scratching your nose when you’ve got a good hand or as little as a little as a slighly increasing the amount you bet. Unlike other games for example football, you’ll never be past your prime you will always gain information from playing different people then its how you use that information which makes you bette than the guy siting next to you.
Generally apart from the money, i believe the main draw of just a card game is the intellectual battle which every player has to deal with in a game of poker. For example reading tells, knowing the odds of winning with our hand, bluffing, and giving off fake tells can be a very effective move! Not to forget the social side of the game, even though your trying to take your opponents winnings its a very social event which people enjoy, all together i think pokers one addictive game which for many reasons people love to play.
